What We Believe
- NCCCOG believes in the Trinity or Triune God; There is only one, true God, who is the creator of the universe, eternally existing in three distinct personalities: God the Father, God the Son (i.e., Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Although each of the three is well-defined, they are co-equal, and are yet one God!
- NCCCOG believes the Bible is the infallible and inspired Word of God; it was written by holy men inspired by God and is the foundation, guidelines, and instruction for our faith.
- NCCCOG believes that the gift of salvation comes only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. “8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith– and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2: 8-10)
- NCCCOG believes that the Church is made up of all people that have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
- NCCCOG believes in and practice the ordinances in obedience to Jesus command which consist of Baptism, the Lord Supper / Communion, and Foot Washing.
- NCCCOG believes in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in which Jesus Christ will on the “Last Day,” come. On that day there will be a resurrection and judgment of the dead including the righteous and the wicked, after judgment the righteous will be rewarded, but the wicked will be punished and all humans will be sent to their final home; heaven or hell.
Uruguay Mission
With a 3% Christian population, Uruguay is the most secular nation in the Western hemisphere. For this reason, Minister Carver Scott has continued his efforts there since 2011 in order to help bring this country to the Lord. During his time in Seminary at Cincinnati Christian University, he took his summer semesters to use his gifts in Uruguay for no more than a few months at a time. After receiving his Master’s of Divinity in Pastoral Leadership in 2014, he worked towards being able to dedicate more time in the country’s capital of Montevideo. Beginning in February 2017, he embarked on a 14 month journey in Uruguay, putting his talents to use among the people.
In Uruguay, Minister Carver Scott has worked among the Uruguayan believers through preaching and teaching as well as helping to build leaders among them for the future. He has continued to work mainly with La Iglesia Bautista El Ancla (The Anchor Baptist Church) and Vida Abundante Uruguay (Abundant Life Uruguay) in particular and has helped to enrich their musical worship and promote evangelism outside the walls of the church to its body of believers.
Evangelism has been a major focus of the mission, and Minister Carver Scott has used his abilities ranging from rollerblading to music and basketball to just regular conversation in order to reach the people of Uruguay with the gospel. Uruguay, and in particular Montevideo, is a place where the most effective approach for showing the light of Christ is not through approaching strangers with a pitch on why they should believe, but rather by showing it through the actions of your own life which in turn creates a space and a relationship that allows for the gospel to come out to these people in a way they have not seen before.
Please continue to keep Carver’s mission work in your prayers as he transitions to minister to the people in Spain, and support the effort to bring lost souls to Christ as God has allowed you to do!
