Pastor James E. Cooley, Sr.

Rev. James E. Cooley, Sr. is a native of Hamilton, Ohio and the husband of Minister Kathy Lynn Cooley. They are the parents of two adults sons and two daughter-in-laws in addition to being the proud grandparents of seven precious grandchildren.

Rev. Cooley grew up in Hamilton, Ohio at Owen and Lane Street Church Of God where he was converted to the Lord at the early age of 6, and accepted his call into the ministry at the of age 14.  Upon completion of high school, Rev. Cooley became an electrician.  He also received an Associates of Arts Degree in Human Social Services (Graduated with High Honors, Phi Theta Kappa) from Highland Community College (Freeport, IL); Bachelor of degree in Management and Leadership from Judson College (Elgin, IL); Master of Arts degree in Theology Studies from Cincinnati Christian University Bible Seminary (Cincinnati, Ohio).  Rev. Cooley has also taken biblical courses at Bay Ridge Christian College, Moody Bible Institute, and Luther Bible College.

Rev. Cooley, in addition to being the proud Pastor of New Covenant Community Church Of God (NCCCOG), is the former Pastor of First Church Of God in Cincinnati, Ohio where served seven years, and First Church Of God in Freeport, IL where he served for a total of 19 years.

Rev. Cooley was ordained as a Church of God (Anderson, IN) Minister June 27, 1982 by the Church of God Ministerial Assembly of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee, WI.  Rev. Cooley served in various community and religious organizations.  Most of all Rev. Cooley loves the Lord with all of his heart, mind, and soul.  Rev. Cooley excitedly looks forward to what God has in store for him and NCCCOG as he continues to daily serve the Lord.

 

First Lady Kathy Lynn Cooley

First Lady, Min. Kathy Lynn Cooley is a native of Milwaukee, WI. Min. Kathy, grew up attending Northside Church of God, under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Sandy L. Jonson, Jr.  As a young teenager, Min. Kathy fully dedicated her life to the Lord at a National Inspirational Youth Convention under the auspice of the late Apostle Rita Johnson. She later accepted her call to the ministry of preaching and teaching under the leadership of her pastor and husband, Pastor James E. Cooley, Sr., as they served as Pastor and First Lady at First Church of God (Freeport, IL).

Min. Kathy has earned an Associates of Arts (MATC), a Bachelor’s of Science (NIU), and a Master’s of Science (NLU). She loves the Lord, His Church and His people. She enjoys nature, reading, writing, studying, participating and assisting in church and social activities, helping others, and simply enjoying life! Min. Kathy believes one of her most important missions in ministry is to love, pray for and support her husband and pastor, Rev. James E. Cooley, Sr. and the New Covenant Community Church of God.
